El centre de l’IRTA, situat a la R\u00e0pita, es troba en un lloc privilegiat a prop de les zones de pesca. El programa Aig\u00fces Marines i Continentals (AMIC) \u00e9s el responsable de dur a terme el programa de monitoratge de qualitat de les aig\u00fces a les \u00e0rees de pesca de Catalunya des del 1999. Com a conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia, mant\u00e9 un estret contacte tant amb el sector productiu com amb l’administraci\u00f3. El programa t\u00e9 un llarg bagatge en l’estudi de les microalgues, incloses les esp\u00e8cies nocives productores de toxines. El centre est\u00e0 degudament equipat per a l’ a\u00efllament i cultiu de microalgues, an\u00e0lisis moleculars i morfol\u00f2gics, aix\u00ed com l’ an\u00e0lisi de toxines. L’IRTA de la R\u00e0pita tamb\u00e9 disposa d’instal\u00b7lacions d’investigaci\u00f3 aq\u00fc\u00edcola, tant a l’interior com a l’exterior. Recentment, tamb\u00e9 s’ha comen\u00e7at a realitzar l\u2019an\u00e0lisis de fitopl\u00e0ncton en la costa valenciana.<\/p>\n

El centre oceanogr\u00e0fic de Vigo \u00e9s una de les 9 seus territorials de l’Institut Espanyol d’Oceanografia, adscrit al CSIC des del 2021 (IEO-CSIC; Ministeri de Ci\u00e8ncia, Innovaci\u00f3 i Universitats). L’ IEO es dedica a la recerca marina, enfocada a la sostenibilitat dels recursos pesquers, l’ oceanografia, l’ aq\u00fcicultura i la protecci\u00f3 del medi mar\u00ed. L’IEO representa Espanya en molts dels f\u00f2rums cient\u00edfics i tecnol\u00f2gics internacionals relacionats amb el mar i els seus recursos.<\/p>\n

L’EURLMB contribueix a la millora i harmonitzaci\u00f3 dels m\u00e8todes anal\u00edtics de les biotoxines marines. Les seves funcions estan establertes a l’article 94 del Reglament (UE) 2017\/625. L’EURLMB coordina l’aplicaci\u00f3 per part dels Laboratoris Nacionals de Refer\u00e8ncia (NRL) de la UE i, en cas necessari, d’altres laboratoris oficials, de m\u00e8todes anal\u00edtics (inclosos els m\u00e8todes de refer\u00e8ncia) per controlar les biotoxines marines als mol\u00b7luscs.\u00a0 Per tant, contribueix a la protecci\u00f3 de la salut p\u00fablica i a garantir el m\u00e0xim nivell de seguretat aliment\u00e0ria a la UE.<\/p>\n
El Laboratori de Biotoxines Marines de Vigo (Espanya) va ser designat com a EURLMB el 1993. En l’actualitat, l’EURLMB dep\u00e8n de l’Ag\u00e8ncia Espanyola de Seguretat Aliment\u00e0ria i Nutrici\u00f3 (AESAN OA) del Ministeri de Drets Socials, Consum i Agenda 2030.<\/p>\n

The IRTA centre, located at Sant Carles de la R\u00e0pita, has a privileged location near seafood fishing areas. IRTA AMIC Programme is responsible for carrying out the Monitoring water quality program in the seafood fishing areas of Catalonia since 1999 and, consequently, is in close contact with the production and administration sector. The programme has long experience in microalgae including those harmful species producing toxins. It is fully equipped for microalgae isolation and culture, molecular and morphological identifications, and toxin analysis. IRTA also has aquaculture research facilities, both indoor and outside. The Vigo Oceanographic Centre is one of the 9 territorial headquarters of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography, assigned as a National Centre to the CSIC since 2021 (IEO-CSIC; Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities). The IEO is dedicated to marine research, especially devoted to the sustainability of fishing resources, oceanography, aquaculture, and protection of the marine environment. The IEO represents Spain in most international scientific and technological forums related to the sea and its resources.<\/p>\r\n

In brief, the EURLMB coordinates the application by the EU National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) and, if necessary, by other official laboratories, of analytical methods (including reference methods) to control marine biotoxins in shellfish.\u00a0 Therefore, contributes to the public health protection of and to guarantee a maximum level of food safety in the EU.<\/p>\r\n
The Marine Biotoxins Laboratory in Vigo (Spain)was designated as EURLMB in 1993.
